Abstract Mature microRNAs(miRNAs)are a class of non-coding RNAs with ~21 nucleotides in length. The majority of miRNAs matches perfectly to 3′UTR sequences of mRNAs and result in mRNA degradation. They also regulate target genes by binding imperfectly to sequences in mRNAs and attenuate translation. Functional analysis indicated that miRNAs involved in a wide range of pivotally biological events, such as growth and development, regulation of immune response, virus infection, etc. In this study, we compared two approaches in miRNA identification. MiRNAs let-7b and let-7c was cloned and sequenced in porcine skeletal muscle tissues.
