Abstract Abstract Botrytis cinerea is a typical necrotrophic ascomycete fungus, known as grey mould. This grey mould can infect more than 200 plant species, leading to substantial losses in numerous crops including tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum), strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa), grape (Vitis vinifera), and so on. There is high genetic diversity in population of B. cinerea. In this paper, phenotypic diversity, pathogenicity differentiation, transposable element genotypes, phylogenetic group, genetic diversity of B. cinerea were reviewed.
