Abstract  The endosperm is an essential part of the crop seed that reserve nutrition and sustains embryo development,Studies on allelic expression and regulation of endosperm are leading us to an extensive understanding of the mechanisms of crop seed development at the molecular level,and which will benefits the research for quality improvement of crop genetic engineering and select high quality crop. The progress of allelic polymorphism and expression research on crop seed endosperm are summarized in this article, including the introduction of genomic imprinting and its influence on crop seed endosperm character and seed development.
