Abstract The detection technique for Genetically Modified Organisms(GMO), including qualitative PCR, quantitative PCR, Enzyne-Linked Immunosorbent Assay and other detection technique, are systematically illustrated. The application progress of GMO in species-special detection, endogenous gene, standard substance and restrain factor influencing detection are reviewed, and the present problems and development prospects of detection technique for GMO are pointed out
