Abstract Baculovirus is an specific pathogen for insect, particularly for the Lepidoptera insects. Since the 1980s, the baculovirus was successfully developed as vector for foreign gene expression, it was extensively applied for recombinant protein production. In recent years, lots of interesting studies were done by developing baculovirus for application in new fields, including protein display system, transfer vector for mammalian cells, immobilization of foreign protein, as well as specific materials for nanobiotechnology.
